OTTSVILLE., Pa. (CBS) — Officials have now extinguished the fire and sealed the propane leak after a tanker accident on Monday morning.
An overturned truck carry hazardous material caught fire in Bucks County Monday morning prompting evacuations of nearby homes and businesses.
Authorities say the propane tanker delivery truck flipped onto its side and caught fire at about 8 a.m. while traveling on Route 611 near Creamery Road in Ottsville. Firefighters are on scene spraying the truck down with foam and water – attempting to cool it and keep the fire from spreading. Homes and businesses within a mile of the scene have been evacuated.
The driver of the truck was injured and taken to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment.
Residents may return to their homes at this time but Route 611 will remain closed for the accident investigation.
