Freddy Adu Scores Twice, Union Beat Dynamo 3-1

CHESTER, Pa. (AP) — Freddy Adu scored twice and the Philadelphia Union beat the Houston Dynamo 3-1 on Sunday to snap an eight-game winless streak and avoid dropping out of playoff contention.

Adu opened the scoring in the 28th minute, and gave Philadelphia (8-14-6) a 2-1 lead on a penalty kick in the 50th. Josue Martinez added his first MLS goal, connecting in the 70th minute.

Boniek Garcia scored for Houston (12-8-10) in the 44th minute.
