Eagles Escape Forbes Overpaid Players List
By Spike Eskin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Eagles have been very generous to both free agents and their own players during the past two offseasons. Even though they’ve handed out big contracts, Forbes says that none of them are too egregious.
This week, Forbes Magazine released their list of the most overpaid players in the NFL, and there isn’t an Eagles player on it.
The Jets lead the pack with three players on the list, David Harris, Santonio Holmes and Antonio Cromartie. Harris is ranked #1 overall, with Karlos Dansby of the Miami Dolphins, Johnathan Joseph of the Houston Texans, Marcedes Lewis of the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Jets’ Holmes rounding out the top five.
The top five salaries on the Eagles are Michael Vick, who makes a base salary of $12.5 million this season, Nnamdi Asomugha who makes $11 million, DeMeco Ryans makes $5.9 million, Jason Babin makes $5.5 million, and the injured Jason Peters makes $4 million.
Do you think there should be an Eagles player on this list? Let us know in the comments.
