EASTON, Pa. (AP) — Zach Zweizig passed for two touchdowns and rushed for another and Lafayette used a big first quarter and a school-record tying seven interceptions to hold off Pennsylvania 28-21 Saturday night in the Quakers’ season opener.

The Leopards (2-0) led 21-0 in the first and 28-7 entering the fourth. After Penn got within 28-21 with 5:24 remaining, Darius Safford got his second interception, picking off Andrew Holland at the Lafayette 38 with 1:19 remaining.

Just 42 seconds later, it was 14-0 after Safford intercepted another Ragone pass and returned it 31 yards.

Zweizig completed a 17-yard TD pass to Rodney Gould with 1:25 left in the first.
