VENTNOR, N. J. (CBS) – A Newtown Square family has become the new owners of the Philadelphia Archdiocese villa by the sea in Ventnor, New Jersey.
Steve and Ilene Berger won the auction Saturday after a total of five bids were placed.
The Berger’s said they plan to renovate the villa into four different section of housing for three families. All families are part of the Berger family.
They also plan to remove the side garden and build a swimming pool there.
Ilene said getting the house was a blessing.
The final selling price was $4.537 million, with 10 percent being a down payment.
Fran McManus, who was the former manager of the property for 25 years, will be hired to work with the property.
