PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Morton’s neuroma is a problem which usually affects between the fourth and fifth or the third and fourth toe. It is a nerve irritation, that’s what the word neuroma means, and when it’s down between those toes, it actually can be the result of pressure or stress further up in the body.

Muscle tightness can often lead to it; tight shoes, extra stress on the feet. It can be treated with steroid medication, but one of your best treatments, actually, is rest.

Rest can make a major difference when you’re talking about Morton’s neuroma.
