Jon Dorenbos Is ‘Stoked’ For The Home Opener Vs. Ravens
By Spike Eskin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The excitement for Sunday’s Eagles home opener against the Baltimore Ravens continues to build, and not just with the fan base.
“Stoked! I love playing at the Linc,” Eagles longsnapper Jon Dorenbos told KYW Newsradio during Thursday’s early addition of ‘Reporters Round-Up’. “I love the Philadelphia fans. For the people out there that have never been to a game in Philadelphia, man, it truly is a great experience. You gotta love it. This is why we play, this is what the city loves and I can’t wait.”
Both teams are 1-0 on the season, but they took different roads to winning their openers. Of course, the Eagles struggles out in Cleveland were well documented but they did pull out a 17-16 win. The Ravens were very, very sharp in a 44-13 dismantling of the Bengals on Monday Night Football.
As a long snapper, Dorenbos is focused on special teams and he says Baltimore brings a very, very good unit to town.
“There a good team, man. There’s no doubt about it. I played for (Ravens head) Coach Harbaugh when he was here (as an Eagles assistant). He’s a genius when it comes to special teams. He’s a special teams guru. We’ve played them multiple times, they’ve got great athletes.”
Listen to Matt Leon’s interview with Jon Dorenbos:
He talks about preparing for Baltimore.
“The way I look at it, I’ll take me as an example, if I focus on my technique and my job, then they can do whatever they want schematically and if I prepare the right way, then I should be able to defend whatever they bring against me.”
The Eagles and Ravens kick-off at 1:00pm on Sunday.
