PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police say a woman has been killed and a man shot to death in different parts of Philadelphia.

A police spokeswoman says the 24-year-old woman was found strangled in an apartment in the East Germantown neighborhood of northeastern Philadelphia.

Police said a 28-year-old man was at the location when police and medical personnel arrived after the 2:30 p.m. call, but no charges had immediately been filed.

Shortly before 6 p.m. Monday, an 18-year-old man was shot in north Philadelphia by someone who fled the scene.

The victim was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead within a half-hour.
