PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – If you are looking for something out of the ordinary to do this weekend, this might be it: The Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild is hosting the 3rd Annual Honey Festival.

The festival will be held at three different venues over the three day period: The Wagner Free Institute of Science on Friday, Wyck Historic House on Saturday and Bartram’s Garden on Sunday.

Abby Sullivan, program coordinator at Wagner, said there’s something for everyone.

“Candlemaking, we’re going to do seed bomb making, we have honey extractions that they can see, open hive demonstrations and then we also have activities for adults.”

Listen to Kim Glovas’ interview with Abby Sullivan in this CBS Philly podcast:

That includes a Honey Happy Hour each day and a honeycomb sculpture created by a local artist and honeybees.

“Stuff going on all day long from 10am to 6pm, and then there’s a whole slew of other activities at other venues like music, jewelry vendors.”

Franklin Fountain will also be sharing its new Honey Comb Ice Cream.
