PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – An employee fought back after being robbed by two suspects at gunpoint at a service station earlier this week in the city’s Overbrook neighborhood.
It happened at the Haverford Freedom gas station in the 7400 block of Haverford Avenue at about 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
Once inside, police say one of the suspects displayed a silver revolver handgun demanding money. One of the employees handed over $150 to the suspect who then demanded more money, before striking another employee on his face with the gun.
In a final attempt to get the money, police say the suspect started counting down and threatened to use his weapon. At that point, authorities say the second employee picked up a metal chair and chased the suspects out of the gas station. They fled the area on foot down.
Both suspects are described as black and between the ages of 20 to 23. The gun-toting suspect was wearing a hooded black jacket and is about 6 feet tall with a thin build.
The second suspect was wearing a hooded, light-colored jacket and is about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a stocky build.
Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to contact police immediately.
