WHITPAIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) - Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a Montgomery County home Monday afternoon.

According to investigators, four black males reportedly entered a home on the 300 block of Railroad Avenue in the West Ambler section of Whitpain Township at about 1:15 p.m.

The suspects, who were wearing ski masks, held the residents at gunpoint while they stole money and jewelry.

Police say it wasn’t until a neighbor came to the front door that the suspects fled through the backyard.

Authorities say there may have been a 5th male who may have been involved; that suspect was seen driving a four-door Buick LeSabre that was seen in the area before the robbery.

The suspects are described as three dark skinned black males and a short light skinned black male. The driver of the Buick was described as having a beard.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Whitpain Township Police Dept at 610-279-9033.
