Edwards Or Kafka, And Projecting The Eagles 53 Man Roster

By Spike Eskin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – In a year that seems to have "Super Bowl or bust" written all over it, it only seems appropriate that the most heated Eagles discussion going on right now is about who the third string quarterback should be.

Welcome to Philadelphia.

The Eagles have to get down to a 53-man roster tonight by 9pm, and the answers aren't obvious.

Last night, Trent Edwards made his final case to be the third (or second) string quarterback on the 2012 Philadelphia Eagles.

As well, impressive performances from Bryce Brown and Chris Polk gave the Eagles some decisions to make at the running back position.

Just how many defensive linemen will they hold on to, and does that mean the team may say goodbye to Daryl Tapp or Brandon Graham?

Finally, the Eagles look like they desperately need help at the safety position.

I spoke about these issues, as well as how Michael Vick will integrate himself into an offense he didn't get much game time with this preseason, with Sheil Kapadia of Birds 24/7.
