Sony, Samsung Show Off New Gear

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Sony and Samsung took the wraps off some drool-inducing products at a big tech show in Berlin, Germany.
At 84 inches, with four times the resolution of 1080p, Sony's new HDTV is bigger and better than yours.
"It's like the difference between a standard definition TV and an HDTV," says Engadget.com managing editor Darren Murph. "When you first saw an HDTV, you thought, 'man, I can never go back to looking at SD.' This is what this promises to do, but with the TV you own now."

The problem with the 4K TV, says Murph...
"No one's actually producing any content for it commercially. When they do, Sony's got the TV for you."
Sony also announced a couple tablets. One has a keyboard cover similar to Microsoft's upcoming Surface.
From Samsung...
"They've announced a new Galaxy Note," Murph says. "It's a small tablet that makes phone calls or it's a really large phone, depending on how you look at it."
This one's a bit bigger -- though with reduced resolution. It runs the newest version of Android. There's also the Galaxy Camera, a point-and-shoot that runs Google's OS.
"They're putting in WiFi and 4G connectivity," says Murph, "So you can take a point-and-shoot quality image and upload it to Instagram right from the camera, because it's going to run Android."
