PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - There was an interesting study last week which showed a link between autism and the age of the father when the baby is conceived.

Although it was not a large association, it showed that the age of a man could play a role in potential birth-related conditions in children.

In the past, issues had been associated with the age of the mother at conception.

I think this particular study is going to open the door to look at conditions at birth related to both sexes and counseling will be directed at both. Perhaps most important is the fact there will be further research which will hopefully help uncover connections and treatments.
