PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Philadelphia Eagles trimmed their roster to 75 by placing All-Pro left tackle Jason Peters and two others on injury designations and releasing a player.
Peters tore his right Achilles’ tendon in the offseason and was put on the non-football injury list on Monday. Defensive tackle Mike Patterson was placed on the non-football illness list while he continues to recover from brain surgery. Both players are eligible to return to practice with the team between Weeks 6-9 of the regular season.
Guard Mike Gibson was placed on injured reserve because of a hip injury, and wide receiver Jamel Hamler was released.
Teams must reduce their roster to 53 players by Friday.
The Eagles finish the preseason Thursday against the Jets.
