WILDWOOD, NJ (CBS) – The Coast Guard is currently searching for a boater who was declared missing on Monday after an unmanned boat showed up just one mile off the coast of Wildwood.

The Coast Guard Sector Delaware received notification around noon that an unmanned 23-foot navy blue boat was unmanned and adrift.

The boat is registered to 39-year-old Jason Sill, a Middle Township Police officer, who was last seen around 11 a.m. exiting Pier 47 Marina in Wildwood.

The boat’s keys were still in the ignition with the engine in the down position and the throttle forward. Fishing poles were also discovered in the boat.

It is not known if the boater was wearing a life jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Coast Guard at 215-271-4940.
