Two Shot Dead, One Hit-Run Death In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police in Philadelphia say a man and woman were shot to death and a third person was killed by a hit-and-run driver in the city overnight.

Police said a 20-year-old man was sitting on the steps of a North Philadelphia home when another man walked up and fired at him twice, hitting him once in the abdomen, shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday. He was taken to Einstein Medical Center and pronounced dead about a half-hour later.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, a man crossing Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene and died minutes later.

Police say a 32-year-old woman found shot twice outside a Northeast Philadelphia home was taken to Temple University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 3 a.m. Sunday.
