PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect in connection with an early morning home invasion robbery.
The incident happened shortly after 3 a.m. inside a home in the 5900 block of Springfield Avenue in the city’s Kingsessing neighborhood.
According to investigators, a suspect forced his way into the home and then attacked a male resident who lived alone.
Authorities say the suspect stole approximately $2,000 in cash and coins before running out of the home.
The victim was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
