NEWARK, Del. (CBS) – Police are searching for two men involved in an armed home invasion robbery that occurred Wednesday morning in Newark.

According to the Newark Police Department, two men forced their way into the home of a 23-year-old man on the 600 block of Lehigh Road at approximately 11:00 a.m.

Once inside, one suspect threw the victim onto a couch and placed a handgun to his head while the other suspect searched the apartment. The two men soon fled the scene after stealing the victim’s laptop, cell phone and Air Jordan sneakers.

The victim then made his way to a relative’s home and contacted police approximately one hour after the incident occurred.

Upon investigation, officials confirmed that illegal drug activity had been conducted at the victim’s residence. Authorities believe the suspects were searching for drugs and possibly drug proceeds.

Police are still searching for the two suspects. One was described as a black male of muscular build with short hair, a full beard and approximately 25-years-old. The other suspect has been described as a black male of approximately 22-23 years of age with a thin build and clean shaven.

Authorities urge anybody with information to contact the Newark Police Department at 302-336-7110.
