Fall Gardener's Market

By Phran Novelli

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Take a look at your yard - need anything? Now, go look at your calendar - what are you doing this Saturday, August 25, between 9 and 2? That's when the Hardy Plant Society is holding their Fall Gardener's Market at the Freedoms Foundation, 1601 Valley Forge Road, that's Route 23, in Valley Forge, PA, 19482.

After our crazy weather year, including extreme heat, almost everyone seems to have some holes in their garden where something died and needs replacing. Fall is the best time to plant because things have three seasons to grow deep roots that will help them get through next summer's heat!

At this sale, you'll get to buy special trees, shrubs, perennials and tools from vendors that don't often sell retail. Plus - instead of just staring at a plant tag and wondering, you get to ask the smart and friendly members of the Hardy Plant Society for advice as you shop, so you'll know what will grow best in your yard and how to take care of it!

It's free and open to everyone so, bring a wagon to haul your goodies and head to the Fall Gardener's Market this Saturday morning.
