Southern New Jersey Mayoral Candidate Arrested For Selling Pot
STAFFORD TWSHIP, N.J. (CBS) – A mayoral candidate in Southern New Jersey may see his campaign go up in smoke.
According to the Stafford Township Police, 43-year-old Thomas J. Litwin was arrested on August 17th for selling marijuana to an undercover officer.
Litwin has been charged with distributing marijuana to an undercover officer, possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of synthetic cannabinoids and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
The mayoral candidate was transported to Ocean County Jail where he is being held on $50,000 bail.
Litwin is one of two independent candidates challenging incumbent Republican Mayor John Spodofora in November's election. The other is candidate Paul Marchal.
