NEW YORK, NY (CBS) – The duo behind a popular Philadelphia restaurant and nightclub will soon take over a Big Apple landmark.
Jim Caiola and David Salama, of Bella Vista creperie Beau Monde and its above nightclub L’Etage, will soon be running New York City’s Tavern on the Green.
The pair submitted a bid for a twenty year lease of the shuttered Central Park restaurant back in April. According to a report from the New York Times, the revamped space will be smaller and more rustic. Chef Katy Sparks, who was named one of Food & Wine’s “Top Ten Best New Chefs in America,” will act as executive chef.
Tavern on the Green is scheduled to be up and running sometime in the fall of 2013.
