BEACH HAVEN, N. J. (CBS) – CBS3 Meteorologist Kathy Orr enjoys LBI’s Beach Haven this week.
The island is filled with giant painted clams posted all along Long Beach Boulevard. And if beachgoers have been wondering about the giant clam trail, CBS 3 has the answer.
The colorful art on the whole shell is done by professional artists as a fundraiser for a project called ReClam The Bay.
The non-profit organization protects the shellfish population by growing millions of baby clams and oysters to stock Barnegat Bay.
ReClam The Bay president Rich Bushnell, accompanied by one of those colorful clams, visited Kathy on the beach to talk about the environmental group’s efforts.
