Attempted Abduction In Bensalem Township

BENSALEM TWP., Pa. (CBS) – Police are asking for help finding a suspect who attempted to abduct a 17-year-old girl.

The incident occurred on Monday at about 5:15 p.m. in the Nottingham section of Bensalem Township.

Authorities report that the victim was walking near Kingston Way and Berkeley Road when a maroon vehicle pulled up.

According to police, the driver, a white male, asked for directions, and as the victim was explaining the directions, the suspect grabbed the victim's arm and attempted to pull her towards his car.

The victim escaped the driver and ran away. The car was seen fleeing the area.

The vehicle was described as a maroon, two-door car that possibly has tinted side and rear windows and the letters SML on the license plate. There were clothes in the back seat of the car.

The suspect was described as a white male in his mid-to-late 40's with brown receding hair, a brown/gray mustache, sideburns that went to the bottom of his ear and a small yellow gold hoop earring in his left ear. He was wearing a blue t-shirt.
