Report: Christie Was High On Romney's Vice-Presidential List

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – According to a report, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was high on Mitt Romney's list for vice-presidential nominees.

Romney didn't select Christie, and instead went with Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate.

According to a report from the New York Post, Christie refused to resign as governor of New Jersey.

After the announcement was made about Ryan being the choice, Christie issued a statement backing the selection, saying the GOP ticket was uniquely positioned to turn around a stagnant national economy.

With the selection of Ryan over with, speculation is surely to begin on whether Christie will make a run at president in 2016.
