PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — One of the most beloved musical figures of our time is set to take the stage at the Mann Center on Sunday, August 26th at 8 p.m.
“The legendary Smokey Robinson. He’s not only a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award-winner, but has 37 Top 40 hits,” says Mann CEO Catherine Cahill.
And Cahill says he will likely be singing hits like “I Second That Emotion.”
“His sterling pen and satin voice are really unique to Smokey, so we’re hoping to hear possibly “Shop Around,” “Tracks of my Tears,” “You Really Got a Hold on Me.”
But that’s not all. Actor and comedian Sinbad will perform as a special guest.
“He’s had audiences laughing in the aisles for over two decades…and I am sure he promises a lot of humor while he’s on our stage,” Cahill says.
