PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are investigating the discovery of a female's body early Friday morning.

The body was found at about 6 a.m. in the 2500 block of N. Mole Street in North Philadelphia.

According to investigators, the body of a 26-year-old female was found in a lot behind a row of homes.

The unidentified victim was pronounced dead by medics at about 6:30 a.m.

Sources say the female was naked and she had marks around her neck. Detectives' suspect that the marks around her neck may have came from a belt that was found not far from the victim's body.

Police say they also found a bag near the victim that included items from a hospital. Detectives are trying to determine if the bag belonged to the victim.

Homicide detectives are at the scene and the location is being held by police.

So far, no arrests have been made.

An autopsy is expected to be performed to determine the victim's identity and a cause of death.

Anyone with information is urged to call 911.
