PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Wednesday evening.

Authorities were called out to the 1700 block of Edgewood Street in Southwest Philadelphia at about 6:15 p.m.

The unidentified victim was pronounced dead a short time later, according to police.

The suspect, described as a black male with shoulder-length dreadlocks, was wearing a white T-shirt and fled in a white minivan.

Police continue to investigate.
