PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia firefighter was injured while battling a house fire early Monday morning.
The fire started shortly before 6 a.m. inside a home in the 800 block of N. Capitol Street in the city’s Fairmount section.
According to fire officials, the blaze apparently started in the basement of the two-story row home.
Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in about 15 minutes.
Fire officials say a firefighter suffered a leg injury and was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital for treatment. No civilians were injured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
