NICETOWN, Pa. (CBS) – The manhunt is on for a gunman who shot and killed a mother in Nicetown, Pa. early Saturday morning.

Around 2 a.m., police say they responded to reports of a woman shot in an alley in the 4200 block of Wayne Avenue at Brunner Street.

Investigators say when they arrived they found the victim, who neighbors have identified as 46-year-old Wanda Williams, with a gunshot wound to the back of her head. Police say she was pronounced dead 30 minutes later.

According to authorities, the victim had 9 children.

Her family stopped by the crime scene Saturday morning.

“The kids loved her in the neighborhood,” the victim’s cousin, Lisa Jabber, said. “She was just a real nice person. No matter what she did, she was nice. She never did anything to hurt anybody.”

Jabber added that the victim grew up in the area and was known for keeping the streets clean.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
