PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police were looking for a group of handbag bandits who hit an upscale store on Thursday morning in Center City.
Detectives say the group got away with more than $16,000 worth of handbags from the Burberry store at 1705 Walnut Street.
It happened around 10:30 in the morning.
Police say two women distracted a store clerk while four men ran into the store and grabbed 15 purses.
All six got into a silver Ford Contour and got away.
No one was injured, and police say no weapons were used.
Detectives were looking for surveillance video that may help them identify the thieves.
