Phillies Add RHP Lindblom, OF Schierholtz

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Philadelphia Phillies have added right-hander reliever Josh Lindblom and outfielder Nate Schierholtz to the roster after obtaining both players in trades on Tuesday.

Lindblom came from the Los Angeles Dodgers in the deal for Shane Victorino. Schierholtz was obtained from San Francisco along with catching prospect Tommy Joseph and right-hander Seth Rosin for Hunter Pence.

Victorino and Pence were unloaded just before the non-waiver trade deadline by the last-place Phillies.

Lindblom arrived in Washington with a run of five straight scoreless appearances. Schierholtz was batting .294 with two homers in his last nine games.

Philadelphia also designated infielder Mike Fontenot for assignment and recalled utility player Michael Martinez from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. This will be Martinez's second stint this year with the Phillies.
