JEFFERSON TWP, Pa. (CBS) – A West Reading man was struck and killed by a falling tree limb on Tuesday morning.
According to the Bernville Fire Department, 50-year-old Martin David Reusing was fatally struck by a 20-foot long tree limb while working in the 400 block of Shartlesville Road in Jefferson Township.
Reusing worked for Martin’s Tree Service and was working on a tree when the limb fell. Authorities say Reusing was at the bottom, holding the rope when the limb came down on top of him.
State police believe the limb fell because the rope was not tight enough and deemed the incident an accident.
