PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Fishtown Bakery is one of six companies being profiled on twitter for its small business advertising tools.
Wipped Bakeshop in Fishtown specializes in cakes and cookies but in April was chosen to take part in Twitter’s small business marketing tools.
“Businesses can go on twitter and pay to have their account promoted or their tweets promoted, so promoted accounts show up on users’ twitters pages as places to follow and it will say promoted so we are one of companies using those tools,” said owner Bennan Lukas.
Whipped Bakeshop has gained 350 followers since they began Twitter’s advertising campaign.
A Twitter spokesperson says these tools amplify a company’s message to a broader group of consumers interested in that product or service. However, it is not available to everyone just yet; it is gradually being rolled out.
