HAMMONTON, N.J. (CBS) - The latest widening project on the westbound Atlantic City Expressway is just about finished.
It’s a welcome sight for travelers headed home from the shore: Crews are in the final phases of extending the third westbound lane on the AC Expressway from the Garden State Parkway to Hammonton.
South Jersey Transportation Authority spokesman Kevin Rehmann says the two-year, $15 million project is in the home stretch.
“We’re hopefully, depending on the weather, going to finish up paving this week and line striping next week and then for all practical purposes, we’ll be done.”
There are plans on the drawing board to extend that westbound third lane from Hammonton to Rt. 73. But Rehmann says that job hasn’t gone to bid, yet.
