Hats off to Huntingdon Valley amateur Andrew Mason, who has won a second straight Golf Association of Philadelphia Open Championship.

Mason survived the heat and humidity and a stern Pine Valley test to win yesterday’s 36-hole marathon against the best pros and amateurs in the region.  

Low professional was Commonwealth National’s Travis Deibert.

I had a chance to speak briefly with both after they completed their rounds yesterday, and a key theme was smart golf and perseverance.
