PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – As Cole Hamels headed for the dugout during Saturday’s loss to the Giants, his work done for the day, he waved to the crowd. The fans at Citizen’s Bank Park were giving him quite a round of applause, especially notable because Hamels hadn’t pitched one of his best games. Many speculated that the wave was one of the goodbye variety, but Charlie Manuel doesn’t think so.

“”I don’t think that’s his last game [with the Phillies],” Manuel told 94WIP’s Michael Barkann and Ike Reese on Monday. I hear a lot, and I see things, and I think it’s just a matter of them getting it done. I think Hamels likes Philadelphia and he wants to stay.”
