Headhunter Offers Tips On Getting A Job
By John Ostapkovich,
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A man with more than a quarter century as a corporate headhunter says the way to get that better job is not in line, but online.
Paul Hill doesn't want you to be a job applicant but a candidate, someone with a high profile in the new domain, the internet.
Through Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, Hill wants you to stoke your own fire, your iBrand; making sure the personal (you know, those beer pong pictures) doesn't scuttle the professional, and always preparing for the next big thing.
"Once you're hired, the important thing today is the opportunity to be found. You can open up the world to yourself by making sure that you're approachable to you professional network or to other professionals in your network, and today you've got a million different tools that you can use," says Hill.
Hill lays it all out, step by step, in The Panic Free Job Search.
