Motorcyclist Critically Injured In University City Crash

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A 53-year-old man is in critical condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after he was struck by vehicle while riding his motorcycle Friday afternoon, according to police.

The accident happened a little before 4 p.m. in Southwest Philadelphia. Police say the man was headed southbound on University Avenue when a vehicle making an illegal U-turn struck him.

He suffered head trauma and a broken neck, police said.

There is no word on the driver's condition or if any charges have been filed.
