PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A suspect connected to a hit-and-run involving a Philadelphia officer is in police custody Thursday night, according to authorities.

On Tuesday evening, a 35th District officer was conducting a traffic stop on the 300 block of West Olney Avenue when for some reason, police say the driver suddenly sped off, dragging the officer for about a block.
The 26-year-old officer was taken to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.
Police say prior to fleeing the scene, the driver gave the officer his license and registration information.
The suspect’s name has not yet been released.
