NEWARK, Del. (CBS) – Police are investigating an armed robbery and assault that took place at Fairplay Transportation Station in Newark, Delaware.
A 38-year-old man was assaulted Wednesday night at about 10:30 p.m. as he left the Delaware Park Casino and walked toward his friend’s house.
Authorities say the victim heard a noise behind him and was allegedly struck in the head with a 4-foot wooden board several times.
After knocking the victim to the ground, the suspect demanded his personal property then fled on foot.
The victim was taken to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center, where he received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
The victim’s current status is unknown at this time.
The suspect has been described as a black male between 20-29 years old. He is around 5’10”-6’0” tall and 125-175 lbs, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and armed with a wooden board that is about 4-feet long.
