Officer Injured During Police Chase In South Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - An officer was seriously injured during a police chase in South Philadelphia Thursday afternoon.
It happened at about 3:50 p.m. near 24th and Moore streets. Authorities say during the chase, the officer struck a parked vehicle and the airbag deployed.
The officer suffered injuries to his face and was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where authorities say he is alert and conscious.
Details on the pursuit were not immediately available. Police are investigating.
