Bucks County Race Has Runners Do More Than Scream For Ice Cream

By Chelsea Karnash

YARDLEY, Pa. (CBS) – One Bucks County race might have runners heaving—and not from exertion.

At the Jog 'n Hog in Yardley this weekend, ice cream-lovers will run two miles through the varied Terrain of Shady Brook Farm, force down a quart—yes, a quart—of Uncle Dave's creamy vanilla ice cream, then run another two miles to the finish line.

Started by two brothers in their 40s who love to do "crazy challenges" (and surely have stomachs of steel), the Jog 'n Hog actually benefits hunger through gluttony: participants are asked to bring at least one item to donate to the Bucks County Housing Groups Penndel Food Pantry.

And fittingly, the event is happening on Sunday, July 15th—National Ice Cream Day.

Want to test your gut and your athletic prowess? The last day to register for the potentially vomit-inducing race is today, July 12th. It's $45 a person, and in addition to ice cream and a spoon, runners also receive a commemorative t-shirt.

Though we're not sure you'll want to remember this one.
