PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia police are searching for a gunman who opened fire striking a teenager and a toddler he was holding in his arms.
It happened a little after 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 2500 block of North 29th Street in Strawberry Mansion.
Authorities say the 19-year-old man was shot in the head and was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he is listed in extremely critical condition.
The child was struck in the arm, according to authorities. She was also taken to Temple Hospital in stable condition.
Police do not have an identity on the toddler and are looking for her parents. Her relation to the other victim is not known.
A gunman was seen fleeing the scene. Police were questioning several witnesses at Central Detectives.
The shooting is under investigation.
