What's Cooking on 1060: Tiki Bar, Chef Competition, and Ice Cream

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- In Riva has a new addition to their restaurant at 4116 Ridge Avenue.

"Yeah," says Arthur Cavaliere with In Riva. "We just opened our new outdoor bar called Bar Fiume."

Cavaliere says the Tiki Bar was made in-house out of reclaimed wood, stone and cement.

"It's full service dining and bar located right on the river on Kelly Drive," he says.

Over at World Cafe Live, Brewery Omegang hosts a chef competition on July 10th.  Megan McGuire with the brewery says the challenge is for chefs to incorporate their Belgian beers in their dishes; and she says they have a Philly superstar chef line-up.

"We have Joe Cicalla of Le Virtu," McGuire says. "Jon Cochon of Lacroix, Jason Cichonski of Ela, George Sabotino of Stateside, Nicolas Elmi of Rittenhouse Tavern and Scott Schroeder from South Philly Tap Room."

And Andy Kamaratos of Andy's Diner in Conshohocken, Bensalem, Springfield and Wyncote celebrates summer with throw-back prices to their opening year, 1976.

"We want to celebrate this month of National Ice Cream Month," says Kamaratos. "We're doing the $1 ice cream Sundae every day for the whole month of July!"
