Philadelphia Police Officer Charged With Theft

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A 25th District Philadelphia Police officer was arrested and charged with theft and related offenses on Thursday for an incident that happened last summer.

Authorities say on August 30, 2011, 45-year-old Susan Bannon, who was on duty, allegedly took money from a female who was in temporary police custody.

After an investigation, Bannon, who is a six-year-veteran of the Philadelphia Police Department, was arrested and has been placed on suspension for thirty days before plans of dismissal.
