SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa (CBS) — Authorities in Delaware County are asking for help from the public as they try to track down the driver of a vehicle that struck a 28-year-old man in Springfield Township and left him for dead by the side of the road.
Springfield police were called to the 100 block of North State Road shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday morning after a passerby called to say he had seen what appeared to be a person lying in the roadway.
Police identified the victim as Thomas Quercetti of Boothwyn.
The investigation is ongoing, but police say it appears he was walking along North State Road when he was struck by a vehicle.
Quercetti was rushed to Crozer Chester Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.
Police are looking for a car they believe will have front end damage possibly to the hood, bumper, headlamp and windshield areas.
Anyone with information is being urged to call Springfield Township police.
