PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Two people suspected of pouring an ammonia-like substance on three free-roaming cats were arrested in West Philadelphia on Tuesday, according to the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Authorities made the arrest on the 4800 block of Westminster Road at about 2 p.m. PSPCA officials say the suspects poured the substance on the cats while they were in a trashcan, killing one of them.

The suspects are charged with intentionally killing the cat and severely injuring the other two.

No further details have been released.
