NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS) – A Delaware man has been charged with robbery after stealing a purse for a cigarette.

At about 8:50 p.m. on Sunday, police were called to Mackenzie Court, Edinburgh Villas Townhouses in New Castle where a victim was allegedly robbed by Eric Gibbs, 25, from Revelle Street.

Authorities report that Gibbs forcibly took a purse from a 40-year-old woman after she did not give him a cigarette. Moments later Gibbs allegedly picked up a baby stroller as if he would hit the victim with it, but then he fled the area.

Reportedly, cigarettes and an undisclosed about of cash were taken from the purse.

Gibbs was taken into custody and charged with robbery and other related offenses.
