POLICE: Former Prison Guard Wanted For Multiple Charges On The Run

By Brad Segall

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa (CBS) – Authorities in Montgomery County say a former prison guard at Graterford, accused of writing fraudulent doctor's notes claiming she had cancer in order to collect sick time, is believed to be on the run and they're hoping someone comes forward with information about her whereabouts.

Authorities are looking for Samantha Sinkler after bench warrants were issued for the 36-year-old woman when she failed to show up in court this month for sentencing on two DUI convictions.

They say she was also a no-show last month on her case involving forgery, identity theft and theft charges.

Prosecutor Noah Marlier hopes someone out there has some information on where she's hiding out.

"Miss Sinkler was pretty good about coming to court, she didn't show up for every appearance, in fact, the commonwealth's position was that we had hoped to revoke her bail."

Sinkler is accused of forging letters claiming she suffered from cancer and seizure disorders. Prosecutors say she stole more than $12,000 in sick time from the state and some of her co-workers who donated their time.
